It’s the most wonderful time of the year! That’ll be the only cliche we run in this post all about the new movies, TV series and documentaries heading to Netflix in December 2015. For the first time in Netflix history this December lineup actually resembles a Christmas one with some great classics headed to Netflix along with some great new titles.
New Addition Highlights
TV Series
Hart of Dixie (Season 4), Complete Collection of Nurse Jackie and Black Mirror : White Christmas all scheduled to release in December.
We’ll kick off our highlights this month by pointing out that the delayed Parenthood season 6 has finally been rescheduled by Netflix after it was originally supposed to come to the service in September. There’s still a little wait as it’s due to hit right at the end of the month.
This month, we get the final season of Hart of Dixie added to your Netflix queues. The heart-pulling CW series about a young doctor who has been left a clinic in a small town in Alabama hangs up her coat in the last ever season of the show. It’s been four great years Dixie! Sticking with the theme of Doctors Netflix will be bringing the entire collection of seasons of Nurse Jackie to the service later in the month. In the show, we follow a nurse completely addicted to medicine as a means to cope with a busy hospital.
On Christmas Day, we have a real treat as the Christmas special of Black Mirror arrives down our chimneys (I knew we promised, sorry) and will provide you with yet another example of the brilliance of Black Mirror and why it was such a good show for Netflix to pick up for future seasons. This episode has a special guest star, Jon Hamm. No excuses; watch this!
Movies
Fairly quiet in the movie department this month with a few notable exceptions. First of let’s kick off with the big Netflix Original movie headed to Netflix this month. The first of the many Adam Sandler movies to come launches its way onto the service on December 11th. The Ridiculous 6 tells of a man who was orphaned searching along with his long lost brother to get answers from his real father.
Tom Hanks is great around Christmas time and The Da Vinci Code is arguably one of his finest movies. The movie based upon the book of the same name delves deep into Christianity for the source of its material and gets weird with secret societies and mystical beings. Also, this month, the movie Ray starring Jamie Foxx. The Oscar-winning movie is about the life of the legendary soul artist Ray Charles. It follows him from a young age and how he became the musician he was.
