Netflix hasn’t yet ventured into the land of the procedural cop drama although that’s now about to change. Arriving in September 2018, Netflix is releasing The Good Cop season 1 onto Netflix. Here’s everything we know about the new show including how many episodes there’ll be, who’s starring and most importantly when it’ll be available on Netflix.
Based on the Israeli show of the same name “The Good Cop” for the US Adaptation has been written and produced by Andy Breckman, the plot of the show revolves around Tony Jr & Tony Sr. while Tony Sr. has just been released from prison for a 7-year sentence for corruption. Tony Jr. has 2 jobs on his hands solving murders and keeping his Dad out of trouble.
How many episodes are there and when will it be on Netflix?
The show is set to air 10 episodes in its first season, and we should expect to see anywhere between 40 Minutes to an Hour. Most shows that have been commissioned by Netflix don’t usually see episodes exceeding past 13, which gives good ground to fit in a solid plot and condense the story down to flow smoothly without too much filler.
The release date for all 10 episodes of season 1 will be landing globally on Netflix on September 21st, 2018.
The Cast
Josh Groban plays straighter than an arrow Tony Jr. the son of disgraced ex-cop Tony Sr. portrayed by Tony Danza. While Tony Danza has played the lead roles in “Taxi” and more famously known for his role as Tony Micelli in”Who’s the Boss?” this is Josh Groban’s first lead role in a series, previously known for starring as himself in shows such as Parks & Rec and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
Playing the role of Detective Cora Vasquez is Monica Barbaro, known for her role in Chicago P.D as Anna Valdez she is currently credited to have a role in Tom Cruise’s upcoming sequel to “Top Gun” in “Top Gun: Maverick”.

Will there be a season two?
There isn’t any confirmation as of yet for Netflix renewing for another season, like most new TV shows Netflix tend to wait until the season has aired and usually gives 1-2 months before they announce the second season. Only in instances where they believe a show WILL be a smash hit have we seen Netflix commission a second season before the first has even released such as Stranger Things.
