Netflix Originals have been a big part of Netflix’s successes over the past few years and while big-budget originals have become household names, smaller titles such as Easy are great content for those that like something a little different.

The first season of Easy landed on Netflix on the 23rd of September, 2016 and had been the subject of relatively mixed reviews but that’s not a bad thing just because of the shows content and it’s very different to Netflix’s other shows.

Never the less, it’s grown a substantial fanbase who will be wanting to know whether or not the show will be renewed for a second season. At the moment, we think the answer is a resounding yes but due to reason we list below, the future of the show could be shorter than you might hope.

If you’re one of the many who is yet to dive into Easy, let’s fill you in as to what the show is all about. The series, produced by Joe Swanberg, is a comedy/drama series that acts as an anthology series meaning each episode contains a new plot, new cast and different outcome. Netflix is no stranger to anthology shows with a comedy series last year call Netflix Presents and later in October with the return of Black Mirror.

Given the talent and investment put into the first season, it seems inconceivable that Netflix won’t be renewing but like the lacklustre promotion leading to the release, don’t expect a big song and dance about the return of the show either. We’d expect season 2 of Easy to land at roughly the same time making it September 2017.

The only piece of evidence that points towards the second season at present is an interview where Swanberg points to the fact that he wants to do this show for the rest of his life.

We’ll update this post as soon as we learn of any new information.
