Welcome to your preview of the new titles coming to Netflix in May 2016. We’re in for a few treats this month regarding new TV series and movies, but once again, Netflix Originals is leading the way in terms of what you should watch throughout May. May is an extra particular month for Netflix, given that it’s the first month where regular content will be coming three times a week in the form of a talk show by Chelsea Handler. It’s a new format, and we can’t wait to see what Netflix will do with the new medium. Otherwise, let’s continue with the new Netflix additions.

Highlights

Netflix Originals

As we mentioned above, it’s a big month for the Netflix Original space as Chelsea Handler is going to be bringing the talk show format into the streaming world which up until now has been unheard of. We’ll also be heading back to the Florida Keys in Bloodline, where things start heating up as the Rayburn family are desperately trying to keep their secret from spreading, and we’ll also be traveling the world in search of the world’s best chefs in Chef’s Table.

Check out our preview for more on the Netflix Originals coming in May.

New Movies

One of the biggest complaints among most Netflix users is that they don’t have the newest movies and it’s clear they’re trying to address that. Our first highlight is the 2015 blockbuster movie starring Jack Black, Goosebumps. The movie is based upon some excellent source material in both the writing and the television series and while its movie conversion isn’t probably what most fans would’ve liked, it’s undoubtedly a great movie you should be checking out in May.

Also heading our way in May 2016 on Netflix is The Nutty Professor, starring Eddie Murphy in his good old days of producing movies worth watching, and the action comedy movie starring Jackie Chan and Owen Wilson in 2003’s Shanghai Noon.

New TV Series/Documentaries

Kicking off is the farewell season to one of AMC’s most underrated shows of all time, Hell on Wheels. The Western series had it all on paper but, unfortunately, has never had the numbers it deserves. The last season is an absolute corker and one you should be very excited to finish if you haven’t already. So long, Hell on Wheels; it’s been fun.

After recent updates to shows including Bob’s Burgers and Archer, we’ve got plenty to be kept busy within the animated sitcom arena. Still, clearly, Netflix thinks we need more in the form of season 10 of American Dad. It’s time to once again join Stan Smith as he goes about his day being not only a dad but working as a CIA agent. Finally, in May, we’d like to highlight another comedy in the form of Baby Daddy. The series has a massive following and an incredibly favorable review number with IMDb plugging the show at a 7.4. Season 5 will be arriving in the middle of the month.
