november-2015-netflix-releases

This is the first time on record that I can recall Netflix releasing the schedule of what’s to come to Netflix at least a week before the month kicks off. That may be down to the fact that it’s a less-than-stellar month, especially when compared against the excellent showing of October. This is incredibly disappointing given that we’re just a couple of months away from Christmas, meaning the nights are much shorter, and many will be craving a new binge. Hopefully, December 2015 will be a much better month. Nevertheless, your new titles will be on Netflix throughout November 2015 are as follows:

Highlights

Movies

home-2014-netflix-november-2015

This month’s new additions seem to have children in mind as Home is the first movie highlight. Dreamworks, in recent years, have hit a stump at creating memorable characters when compared to their rivals at Pixar. Home was their opportunity to fix that. Whether it achieved that status is questionable, but a stellar cast featuring the likes of Jim Parsons (The Big Bang Theory), Rihanna, and Steve Martin certainly hasn’t hurt its odds.

Best of Enemies is heading to the streaming service towards the end of the month. The movie documents a series of televised debates in the late 60s between Gore Vidal and William F. Buckley Jr. It’s been labeled as a film that documents the ushering of a new televised era.

Documentaries

Last Days in Vietnam (2014) arriving on November 1st

We rarely feature documentaries in our highlights section because most are debuting on Netflix. This month, however, we’re bucking the trend and recommending that you give ‘Last Days in Vietnam’ a stream. The documentary, which premiered on PBS, was directed and produced by Rory Kennedy, who was nominated for an Oscar for this documentary. The doc follows the final weeks of the Vietnam war and shows the casualties of the war like never before.

TV Series

Continuum Season 4 arrives on November 15th

This month, we’ll get the final chapter of the brilliant sci-fi series Continuum. The Canadian series was short-lived as it only survived the rating wars for four seasons, and with the final season consisting of only 6 episodes, it will be extra sad for fans of the series. The show is set in 2077, where time travel has led to a group of terrorists going back into 2012 with a police officer unintentionally tasked with stopping them.

For the anime fans among you, Black Butler will be getting an update this month, with season 3 being added on the 18th. As we’ve covered in our Netflix Original post, you’ll want to clear away time on November 20th as the first season of Jessica Jones drops all at once.
