July is a quiet month for movies, but you still have some good watching options on Netflix.

It’s that time again where we take a look at the new content headed your way next month. This part of summer is always a quiet time for movies, but that doesn’t mean you don’t have any good watching options. You just have to look a little harder. Lucky you, we’re here to do the work for you.

There are some titles hitting the service this month that are older, but very worthy of your time. Disney’s Bolt (2008) is a movie I feel is often overlooked but is a great watch for the whole family. The Company Men is a drama featuring Ben Affleck, Kevin Costner, Chris Cooper, and Tommy Lee Jones. A film about the shifting economy and its effect on workers, it’s a very satisfying watch.

Some other films deserving a spot in your queue are Gone Baby Gone, The Boondock Saintsand Blue Valentine.

For a full look at all of the selections coming next month see our July list.

Gone Baby Gone

Dinosaurs, dinosaurs, and more dinosaurs. Just in time for your trip to the movies to see the new Jurrasic World: Fallen Kingdom, catch up with the all the action on Netflix. You know you want to see Jeff Goldblum.

An Education

Carey Mulligan stars in this stellar film as a teen with a bright future; she’s smart, pretty, and has aspirations of attending Oxford University. Then she meets David (Peter Sarsgaard), a charming but much older man who shows her a side of life she has never seen. The entire cast of this movie is fantastic and puts forth marvelous performances.

Extinction Netflix Original

Arrives July 27th

This sci-fi horror film stars Michael Pena and Lizzy Caplan. A father’s (Pena) recurring nightmare of losing his family becomes a real threat as the planet is invaded by aliens. I’m interested to see what happens with this one.

Her

Joaquin Phoenix stars in this outstanding sci-fi film as a soulful author who makes a living writing personal letters for other people. Heartbroken after the end of his marriage, he becomes fascinated with a new operating system that helps run the day to day of his life. What starts as an odd friendship becomes love.
