Our Planet – Picture from Netflix
It’s time to look at what’s coming to Netflix throughout the first week of April and there is a lot to cover. As we crossover to a new month, that means we get a bunch of new releases on the first of the month. Here’s the current list of titles we know about so far.

Here’s five things that should be on your streaming radar this week:
Our Planet (Season 1) Netflix Original
Arrives on Netflix on Friday, April 4th
Sophie Lanfear/Silverback/Netflix
For documentary lovers, few series comes close to the of the BBC and the team that bought you Planet Earth, Blue Planet and more. The team behind that show has been quietly working away on their massive new docuseries narrated by David Attenborough.
The new series spread across eight episodes and shot in stunning 4K will venture all across the globe in an effort to document planet Earth’s remaining wilderness.
Legacies (Season 1) The CW Release
Arrives on Netflix on Friday, April 4th
With The Vampire Diaries and The Originals now over on The CW they had to fill the gap and thankfully, Legacies does just that. The series follows Hope Mikaelson who is a tribrid daughter of a Vampire and a Werewolf.
The series despite having some apprehension from fans going in has performed very well and comes to Netflix just a week after its finale airs on The CW.
Kim’s Convenience (Season 3)
Arrives on Netflix on Wednesday, April 3rd
We broke the news last week that Kim’s Convenience would be coming to Netflix on April 3rd and that’s seen some huge response from US fans whose only way of watching is through Netflix. This year, Netflix is getting all the new episodes of season 3 just one day after it wraps on CBC.
The series continues the ever hilarious stories of an Asian family running a convenience store.
New Movies on April 1st
Plenty of new movies will be joining the service on April 1st but we don’t have time to go through all of them so let’s rattle through some of the best ones.
I Am Legend is the controversial movie that starred Will Smith in a post-apocalyptic New York surviving with his dog. The Fifth Element is one of the best sci-fi movies of all time and that should really be the end of that description. Pineapple Express is yet another stoner movie from Seth Rogan.
PBS Documentaries
Two PBS documentaries will be quietly slipping onto Netflix on April 1st too.
First up, American Masters is an ongoing PBS documentary series which has racked up over 230 episodes in its running since 1985. On April 1st, the episodes surrounding MLB legend Ted Williams will be available.
Some of the additions haven’t been reported by other outlets because they weren’t reported in the main April 2019 new release list released by Netflix. Don’t worry though, we’ve got you covered below. An hour-long documentary on pangolins will also be available.
