That’s right folks Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is already scheduled to leave the UK! These past 13 months have absolutely flown by and may come as a surprise to many that the title is leaving already. Your last opportunity to watch Batman v Superman will be this weekend as come next week you’ll no longer be able to stream the film.
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is the second film in the DC Expanded Universe. The film was officially the beginning of DC’s expansion into their own shared universe to try and rival the ever-popular Marvel Cinematic Universe. Suffice to say the film for many failed to live up to expectations but there are still plenty of fans that love the film.
In the aftermath of Superman’s dramatic showdown with General Zod, Bruce Wayne is devising a plan to take down the Man of Steel. Concerned by the Kryptonians threat to humanity, Bruce Wayne feels he has no choice but to stop Superman before he turns on the people of Earth. Meanwhile, Lex Luthor also launches his own personal crusade against Superman, to prove once and for all superiority of mortals.
When is Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice scheduled to leave Netflix UK?
Batman v Superman is scheduled to leave on the 29th of April. If you have access to the details page of the title you can view the leaving date.
13 months is a very unusual contract for Netflix to stream any title. In most instances Netflix license to titles for 12, 36 and 60 Months.
Are any other DC titles scheduled to leave?
Currently, the only other DC title streaming on Netflix is Suicide Squad. The film only arrived in March 2019 so Suicide Squad won’t be leaving until 2020.
There are still plenty of DC titles to arrive on Netflix UK but you’ll be waiting a while for more!
Why is Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice scheduled to leave Netflix UK?
Batman v Superman was available to subscribers in the UK from the 30th of March, 2018, therefore, the license to stream the title must have only been for 13 months. Once a license expires for any title it will leave Netflix, the same applies to other streaming services.
Will Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice stream elsewhere?
The most likely scenario will be that Batman v Superman will return to Now TV and Sky Go. With the launch of Sky’s Superhero channel for Sky Movies, they’ll be looking to add as many superhero titles as possible.
The only other streaming other than Now TV to pick up the title would be Amazon Prime.
