Everything that’s come today on the Netflix DVD front will ultimately be overshadowed by the fact that Star Wars Episode 7 is now available to rent on DVD and Bluray. The epic movie that pretty much dominated the entire Christmas period was a return to the screen for the film franchise that first premiered in 1977. It set out to continue the original trilogies story, distance itself from the prequels but most importantly, pave a way for both a new generation of cast and most importantly for Disney, fans.
The movie shared many similarities with the first movie released nearly 40 years ago with both a similar plot and running the same themes but for many, that was enough. It’s an absolutely gorgeous movie that even if you’re not the biggest fan of Star Wars, you should definitely check out.
For those of you looking for something a little bit different from a big blockbuster, we’d recommend giving Remember a try. The movie that release in March of last year, was a Canadian-German thriller starring mostly German actors but did have Dean Norris (Hank from Breaking Bad) to attract a more Western audience. It’s certainly a divisive movie with a survivor of Auschwitz from World War 2 seeking closure on the death of his family. It’s art house for sure but a touching, real movie that may take your fancy if Star Wars isn’t your thing.
