Pip Fitz-Amobi is officially returning to our screens one last time. Netflix has now confirmed that the hit YA mystery series A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder has been renewed for a third and final season.

The final chapter will bring Pip’s ultimate investigation to a gripping conclusion, officially completing the screen adaptation of Holly Jackson’s bestselling book trilogy. Based on the third novel, As Good As Dead, the final installment promises to be the darkest entry yet.

The renewal should come as no surprise to anyone following the show’s phenomenal performance. Season 1 was a massive global hit, debuting at #1 on the Global Top 10 TV (English) list and catapulting the original novel back to the #1 spot on the New York Times Best Sellers list following the trailer debut. Season 2 followed suit, breaking into the Global Top 10 TV (English) list after just four days on the streamer, albeit seeing a big downtrend in viewership (up to 80% decline).

In a rare and exciting twist for a renewal announcement, Netflix also confirmed that Season 3 has already wrapped production. If you’re wondering how they managed to finish filming before the renewal was even officially announced, it turns out the four-episode final installment was shot back-to-back with Season 2 during the back half of 2025! Timing-wise, this was no doubt done because Wednesday season 3 is filming throughout much of 2026

Also, a fun fact: we first reached out to Netflix about the renewal back in mid-to-late 2025, but they repeatedly declined to comment on the renewal.

The final season is currently slated for a global premiere in 2027

Writer and Executive Producer Holly Jackson expressed her excitement about adapting her favorite book in the trilogy:

“I am ecstatic that we are able to bring A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder to its (bloody) conclusion. As Good As Dead is my favourite of the book series and it’s by far my favourite season of the show too. You’ll see Pip as you’ve never seen her before. It’s dark, breathless, horrible and… somehow still manages to be funny. Come on back to Little Kilton for the final time…if you dare.”

Star Emma Myers, who also serves as an Executive Producer on the series, shared a similar sentiment:

“I’m very happy that we get to bring everyone season 3 of A Good Girl’s Guide To Murder. Thank you so much to everyone who has given this show love and support throughout! This has truly been an incredible experience and Pip will be a character I will never forget. Book 3 is my favorite of all the books, so I’m very excited to show everyone what we’ve done. Get ready for a crazy time!”

Where will Season 3 stream?

As we’ve covered with the previous seasons, the distribution rights for A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder are a little complex due to its co-production status. While the show will be branded as a Netflix Original in most territories globally in 2027, there are a few notable exceptions:

  • United Kingdom: The BBC will premiere the series exclusively on BBC iPlayer, BBC One, and BBC Three.
  • Germany, Austria, and Switzerland: Available exclusively on ZDFneo.
  • Australia: Available exclusively on Stan.
  • New Zealand: Available exclusively on Sky NZ.
