The Purge movies continue to gather steam are infinitely popular with four movies under its belt in under five years. Are any of The Purge movies on Netflix or will they ever come to Netflix? Let’s take a look.

James DeMonaco is the man behind the phenomenon known as The Purge. He’s written and produced all four of the movies with the fourth about to hit cinemas in July 2018. The premise of the movies are relatively simple and involve their being a single day every year in the United States where everything is legal.

Despite the series not receiving the best critic reviews, it manages to get out millions to the cinemas to catch each entry. The three entries release so far include The Purge (2013), The Purge: Anarchy (2014) and The Purge: Election Year (2016). The fourth Purge movie serves as a prequel to the previous three entries and is known as The First Purge.

Let’s start off by saying that yes, The Purge movies are on Netflix. Unfortunately, with Netflix, they’re restricted to certain regions. For those who reside in the United States, none of them are streaming on Netflix.

  • The Purge (2013) is currently streaming on Netflix in the United Kingdom only.
  • The Purge: Anarchy (2014) is only streaming on Netflix in the Netherlands and France.
  • The Purge: Election Year (2016) is streaming on Netflix in Australia, Poland, Israel, Italy and Spain.

Will The First Purge come to Netflix?

It’s definitely likely that some Netflix regions will get the next Purge entry. Sadly, the United States won’t be involved. The reason for this is because of licensing agreements.

The only place you’ll be able to stream The Purge movies (albeit irregularly) is through HBO and its streaming services. Last year, for example, it picked up Election Year exclusively.

The Purge movies are available on Netflix DVD

As with most movies, The Purge is made available on rental through Netflix’s separate DVD subscription.  In most cases, you’re also able to rent it as a Bluray too.
