Happy Valley Season 2 on Netflix

Update – Happy Valley is arriving in March 2016

Release schedules have been announced for Happy Valley season 2 which leads us to suspect that Netflix United States along with Canada will be due to getting the new season in just a few months time.

Happy Valley is among some of the BBC shows that Netflix has decided to be apart of their Netflix Original library. Happy Valley is in good company with Sherlock, Peaky Blinders and the more recently added TV series, River. It’s official air date was announced a few months back to be in February 2016 on the BBC which it’ll then, once finished, get every episode added at once to the Netflix library. A full timeline has not been announced but we suspect that you may be getting some time in June to match the release date of the first season last year.

With that said it did take a while for the first season to come onto Netflix so any kind of slip could see it being added in 2017 but we don’t think that’s likely given it’s newly appointed Netflix Original label.

The show takes us to West Yorkshire in the United Kingdom and follows Catherine Cawood, a police sergeant who while dealing with her daughters suicide finds a lead of the person that actually led to her death. It’s a battle of having to keep emotions out of the job and as you can imagine, is no easy feat. It has performed really well in the UK with American audiences also taking to the gripping drama that’s very grounded when compared to other police dramas.

This is great news for two reasons, one that we’re actually getting a new season of Happy Valley to continue the story and two that we could be seeing it added to Netflix so soon. We’ll of course keep you updated with any new information that comes our way. Until then, you can stream season 1 of Happy Valley on Netflix in the USA and Canada.
