On the 6th of October, a new Partial Netflix Original was brought to our screens with the title ‘ID-0’. We’re here to give you any information you need about the second season, and whether it’s going to be reaching your Netflix account anytime soon.
ID-0 is a brand-new Japanese anime show produced by the animation company Sanzigen. The show was originally aired on Tokyo MX before Netflix bought the streaming rights to the show back in 2016.
Netflix has seemed to have identified the demand for high-quality anime shows, and how popular they are. ID-0 defiantly fills a gap for any avid anime fans who are desperate to sink into a new series. Netflix now has over 10 original anime shows and it’s only going to grow with time.

ID-0 Plot
Now I’m going to attempt to describe the plot to the best of my ability. The show is set in the distant future, where the human race has long expanded outside our known solar system. In order to expand further, colonists need to extract the newly discovered mineral Orichalt, that can be found in extreme environments. In order to harvest this necessary mineral, robots called I-Machines are developed, which take on a human consciousness to operate. While Maya Mikuri, an Alliance Academy student is operating an I-Machine she is captured by pirates and somehow ends up living and serving as a crew member on an excavation ship.
ID-0 Season 2 Renewal Status
Official renewal status: Not yet renewed (Last updated: 10/12/2017)
Although the series has not yet been renewed, it is very likely that Netflix will follow up with a second season. We’re continuously monitoring and keeping an eye on ID-0, and if Netflix officially announces its renewal then this article will be updated.
When would Season 2 of ID-0 come to Netflix?
Fans of this genre will know that a lot of dedication, hard work and time goes into the production of an animated series such as ID-0. This means it would be highly unrealistic to expect the second season to be arriving in less than a year. Especially regarding season one included 12 episodes, we can estimate a rough wait of two to three years until we will see any new episodes on Netflix. Hopefully, by July 2019 they will be nearing the end of production.
Of course, this also depends on when Netflix Officially renews the property and how soon Sanzigen can get to work. This may seem like a long time to wait (it is), but in the meantime, there are plenty of other Netflix Original anime for you to enjoy.
