We have all the details you need about the new Netflix Original comedy series Disjointed, including the release date.

Disjointed is a workplace comedy starring Kathy Bates as a lifelong advocate for legalization who’s finally living her dream as the owner of an L.A.–area cannabis dispensary. Joining her are her three budtenders, her twenty-something son returning from college, and a war veteran security guard. The stoners are running the store.

The Minds Behind the Kind

  • Chuck Lorre, the mega-producer responsible for huge comedy hits like Two and a Half Men and The Big Big Theory.
  • Former Daily Show writer and producer David Javerbaum.

Lorre has worked with star Kathy Bates before on Two and a Half Men, a turn for which she won an emmy.

The Cast

Kathy Bates stars as Ruth Whitefeather Feldman, lifelong marijuana advocate and user who achieves her dreams of owning her own Los Angeles-based pot dispensary.

Aaron Moten is her son and partner Travis, returning from college with an MBA, which his mother refers to as “a trip to the dark side.”

In the group: Growmaster Pete (Dougie Baldwin), Jenny (Elizabeth Ho), Olivia (Elizabeth Alderfer), who finds herself drawn to Travis, and security guard Carter (Tone Bell), an Iraq vet with PTSD.

Also hanging around:

  • Maria (Nicole Sullivan), a middle-aged housewife looking for relief
  • Dank (Chris Redd) and Dabby (Betsy Sodaro), who have a pot-themed webcast
  • Antagonistic neighbor Tae Kwon Doug (Michael Trucco)

This looks highly interesting.

The Trailer

Disjointed has an old-fashioned, filmed live and/or laugh-tracked situation comedy feel. If you’re a fan of comedies like The Ranch and Two and a Half Men this is going to be right up your alley, even if you have no particular interest in or knowledge of the subject matter. *cough*
