2019 has been an excellent year for new anime. We’ve seen some epic new titles released this year, but none have quite generated the same level of hype as Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. But is Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba available to stream on Netflix? Sadly not, but allow us to help point you in the right direction.
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba is a dark fantasy shonen anime series, based on the manga of the same name by Koyoharu Gotōge. The series has exploded in popularity since the broadcast of the anime, with many even preferring the anime to the manga. To date, there is a total of 17 volumes of the manga. There are a total of 26 episodes of anime, and a movie to look forward to in 2020.
Taishō-era of Japan, in the cold mountains, the kind-hearted Tanjiro Kamado lives with his family. After the passing of his father, Tanjiro is the sole source of income for his family. Tragically, his family are murdered by demons while Tanjiro was away, upon his return, only the bloodied bodies of his family remain. In a tragic twist of fate, Tanjiro’s sister, Nezuko, has become a demon. After displaying signs of humanity, Nezuko is spared from death. To seek retribution for his family, Tanjiro trains to become a demon slayer to help his sister, and to stop the same tragedy that befell him on other families.

Is Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba on Netflix US?
Sadly you’ll have to look elsewhere if you’re looking to stream Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. Netflix currently doesn’t hold the license to the anime, Aniplex, the license holders in North America, have licensed the anime to FUNimation and Crunchyroll.
You can stream all 26 episodes of the first season on Crunchyroll who provide the Japanese Dub.
For the English Dub, you can stream episodes on FUNimation and Hulu. While Hulu is not the license holder, they currently have a partnership deal in place with FUNimation which grants Hulu access to the FUNimation library.
Is Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba available to stream in other regions on Netflix?
Unfortunately, the only region streaming Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba on Netflix is Japan. That being said we do know where you can stream the first season of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba in other regions:
- In the United Kingdom, a subscription to either Crunchyroll or FUNimation will give you access to Demon Slayer episodes.
- In Canada, you will also need a subscription to either Crunchyroll or FUNimation to watch Demon Slayer.
- Australian fans, you can stream Demon Slayer on AnimeLab.
