The first Netflix acquisition from the BBC is just around the corner as it’s picked up the four-episode first season of Collateral. The crime drama will be arriving on Netflix everywhere (except the United Kingdom) on March 9th, 2018.

The Brits are arguably the king of creating convincing short series crime drama with some of the most notable titles being The Fall, Happy Valley, The Missing, Retribution, and River, all of which are currently streaming on Netflix.

The British Broadcasting Corporation and Netflix are no strangers when it comes to producing content. They’ve shared multiple projects in the past and has at least six more co-productions scheduled for release throughout 2018. Netflix in other regions have the exclusive rights to such shows like Happy Valley, Peaky Blinders, Sherlock and up until recently, Doctor Who.

Collateral Synopsis

As described in the Youtube trailer:

“Set over the course of four days in London, Collateral explores the spiraling repercussions surrounding the fatal shooting of a pizza delivery man. Detective Inspector Kip Glaspie (Carey Mulligan) refuses to accept that this is a random act of violence, and is determined to discover if there is a darker truth.”

All four hour-long episodes will be arriving on Netflix everywhere including the US, Canada and Australia on March 9th. It’ll come as part of a bumper month for Netflix Originals.

Will Collateral come to Netflix UK?

We are expecting Collateral to come to Netflix UK at some point in time but not in the immediate future. With the BBC ramping up its efforts to compete with Netflix through the iPlayer, it’s likely the show will remain as a box set on there for the foreseeable future. As with the other titles mentioned above, all at some point have arrived on Netflix UK.

For now, you can watch all the episodes on the BBC iPlayer but only if you’re a resident of the UK.
