Those of you itching for a new season of Scream on Netflix, the truth is, for those in the UK at least, you won’t have long to wait as the exclusive deal between MTV and Netflix means that new episodes will be coming from May 31st 2016.

You can stream the first season of Scream right now on Netflix UK with no release date just yet for those of you in the US. The TV show is of course the modern day retelling in a serialised format of the Scream movies which took the horror genre by storm when it kicked off in 1996, changing the horror landscape for good.

The TV series has struck a chord with younger audiences given that most of the show is set in a high school. It follows a group of teens who are vulnerable after a bloody cyberbulling event at their school. Season 2 will continue right where season 1 left off with everyone returning to school after the dramatics events of season 1.

The deal between MTV and Netflix continues this month on Netflix UK, among other regions, seeing new episodes drop onto the service in a weekly fashion just 24 hours after it broadcasts in the USA. The same happened for season 1 and actually is present on a ton of shows including Shadowhunters, Once Upon a Time, Better Call Saul to name but a few.

So to recap, episode 1 will kick off on MTV in America on May 30th 2016 and will then be available on Netflix on May 31st 2016. That’ll continue weekly for 14 weeks (up from 10 episodes that came with the first season) meaning we’ll get the last episode on August 30th 2016.
