Worry not Netflix fans Sesame Street will be returning to Netflix however it’s not exactly clear when yet. Many were distraught and fustrated when Netflix dropped Sesame Street series and a number of specials on the first of September. This public outcry led to Sesame Steet social media accounts to respond and thankfully it doesn’t mean the end to Sesame Street on Netflix just yet.
In a statement posted on their Facebook page it read :
It makes sense that it was in error because the PBS licenses which Netflix holds usually expire and renew towards the end of June as seen in this blog post detailing all the new additions.
In case you’re unfamiliar with Sesame Street the long-running PBS series is an educational program for children based around puppets with the most famous being Elmo and of course the Cookie Monster. The series has now been running for over 40 years and has entertained kids for decades.
