Nuremberg: Nazis on Trial from the BBC

Multiple documentaries from the BBC are scheduled to leave Netflix US on September 1st. These include several documentaries on World War 2 and a couple of nature documentaries from the British provider too. Here’s a look at what’s leaving.

The BBC and Netflix have a long-standing relationship in the US bringing with it many shows, movies, and documentaries. In recent years, Netflix has picked up exclusive rights to stream shows like Sherlock, Peaky Blinders and Luther from the broadcaster.

BBC documentaries are most comparable to those of PBS in the sense that they’re extremely factual and don’t have sensationalism of some commercially funded documentaries providers like National Geographic.

Here’s the full list of documentaries scheduled to expire split by genre:

World War 2 Documentaries
  • Auschwitz: The Nazis and the Final Solution (Season 1)
  • Nuremberg: Nazis on Trial (Season 1)
  • Our World War (3 Episodes)
  • The Last Nazis (3 Episodes)
  • The World’s War: Forgotten Soldiers of the Empire (2 Episodes)
History Documentaries
  • Egypt (Season 1)
Nature Documentaries
  • Ocean Giants (3 Episodes)

As you can see, if you’re a World War 2 buff or interested in the time period, you need to get your streaming boots on now. If we had to recommend just one of these titles it’d be The Last Nazis series. The series interviews some of the last remaining Nazis from Germany. It’s absolutely fascinating. +

Some of these documentaries are available on Britbox, a cross effort US streaming service where UK broadcasters host their content.

It’s worth noting that these removal dates aren’t final. Netflix regularly has to renew its content and it could just be the case that the content will be renewed. A complete list of confirmed removals will be available later in August.

Also currently scheduled to leave in September 2018 are several anime hits like Naruto, Bleach, and InuYasha. As always, keep it locked here on What’s on Netflix where we’ll keep you updated on everything leaving Netflix.
