IMDb Score: 6.5/10

On the first day of Christmas, my true love gave to me a handsome ghost that won’t sell his property. While the plot of the film may have sounded silly to some if you’re watching a Christmas film you’re usually watching it for those feel-good moments.

Lawyer Kate falls in love a spirit that only takes the form of a human in the 12 days before Christmas.

Bad Santa

Director: Terry Zwigoff

IMDb Score: 7.1/10

Not your usual family-friendly holiday film (No, seriously this is not meant for kids!) Bad Santa is a dark-comedic take on the holiday season. With some of the high profile films Billy Bob Thornton has starred in, it’s amazing to think how Bad Santa is one of his most iconic roles to date.

Santa and Elf pair Willie T. Stokes and Marcus reunite during the holiday season to pull their seasonal holiday con. Posing as the Mall Santa and Elf, they rip off all the shopping outlets on Christmas Eve night. This year though is especially hard on Willie as he’s become a depressed alcoholic and is tearing himself apart. But when he befriends a young child it soon brings out a kinder side, which makes Willie wonder if there is still hope for him yet.

Maybe these were a sign of things to come when it came to computer animation for Disney. While the second Christmas special isn’t as beloved as the very first, it is still enjoyable none the less and who doesn’t love to see more of Micky and friends!?

Set across 5 Christmas tales we see Donald’s nephews Huey, Dewey and Louie travel to the North Pole to try and take their names off the naughty list. Minnie Mouse and Daisy Duck’s friendship is put to the test as the pair competes against each other in the local Ice Skating competition. Poor Pluto runs away from home after he ruins all of Mickey’s Christmas decorations!

How The Grinch Stole Christmas

Love him or hate him Jim Carrey’s portrayal of the Grinch will always be remembered as one of the best on-screen portrayals for any fictional character. The film has been enjoyed by those of all ages and even 18 years after its release the film is still a must watch during the holiday season.

There is nothing more the Who’s of Whoville love more than Christmas. But the only thing the Grinch detests more than Who’s is Christmas itself! Tired of the Who’s over the top and zealous celebration of Christmas, the Grinch has a plan to take it all away and steal Christmas from the Who’s! Standing in his way is Cindy Lou Who, a young Whovian is unafraid and sympathetic to the Grinch.
