Are you a fan of The OA? You may not have to wait much longer for new episodes.

The OA is a cult favorite with a devoted following.  We were all left with a lot of questions and fans have been patiently waiting for two years for a second season of the provocative and mysterious show.

The series is about a blind woman missing for seven years who returns to the community she grew up in with her sight restored. Some hail her a miracle, others a dangerous mystery, but Prairie won’t talk about her seven missing years with anyone except four teenage boys whom she tells her story to in order to recruit them for a secret mission.

In early July Brit Marling, the creator and star of the show, took to Instagram and gave an update of the series status.

According to Indiewire, Netflix Vice President of Original Series Cindy Holland has seen the early cuts of the season two episodes meaning we shouldn’t have much longer to wait.

“The fans will be very happy.”

-Cindy Holland

Holland also confirms a plan that creators Brit Marling and Zal Batmanglij have alluded to before: that The OA is one long story being released in chunks, rather than a developing narrative that shifts to a new direction after each season. They have a plan for five total seasons.
