Supernatural dramas have certainly risen to prominence over the past decade and arguably dominated the viewing figures for many teenagers and young adults alike. Netflix is continuing to get in on that Supernatural action with the soon to be released original horror-drama The Order. We have everything you need to know about The Order including release date, cast, the plot and the trailer.

The Order is an upcoming Netflix Original horror-drama series created by Dennis Heaton and Shelley Eriksen. The series was ordered by Netflix in April 2018 and has been produced by Nomadic Pictures. The production studio has also been involved with the production of popular TV shows such as Fargo and Van Helsing. Since the announcement of the show, The Order has gone under the radar until the recent release of the trailer.

The Plot: The Order Season 1

Jack Morton is a freshman at College. Out for revenge against those that killed his mother, Jack pledges himself to a secret society known as The Order. Thrust into the world of magic, and supernatural horrors as Jack delves deeper into the world of The Order he discovers there is an ongoing war between the Werewolves and Magical Dark Arts users.

Rating and Target Audience: The Order Season 1

An official rating is yet to be given but we expect a rating of either TV-14 or TV-17. The target audience appears to be teenagers and young adults but that’s not to say The Order can’t be enjoyed by those of all ages. By the nature and narrative of the show, it is very akin to other supernatural shows such as The Vampire Diaries, Teen Wolf and Shadowhunters.

We fully expect the show to be very popular amongst teenagers and with the recent cancelation of Shadowhunters, many will be looking for that void to be filled.

There’s been a distinct lack of coverage for The Order and Netflix hasn’t released too much information on the upcoming horror drama.

Episode Count: The Order Season 1

The first season of The Order will arrive with all 10 episodes. Episode run times have yet to be announced but it’s highly likely each episode will be roughly 50-60 minutes in length.

With the release, imminent Netflix has released the trailer.

Netflix Release Date: The Order Season 1

The Order will debut on Netflix on Thursday the 7th of March. For a series to release on a Thursday is very unusual for Netflix, but this may be because they don’t want the release of The Order to clash with After Life.

Season 2: The Order

There have been no talks of a second season of yet. Netflix will wait of least a month before announcing the renewal of The Order. It’s very rare for Netflix to order shows in bulk, instead, they usually order shows season by season, therefore, they don’t have to commit to the creation of a show that underperforms.
