Weekly Highlights Netflix US June 24th
It’s Friday! New week, new titles. Have you finished watching the new season of Orange Is The New Black yet? Because there are a couple of great additions this week. I recommend Chelsea’s Thursday episode. They have been political, but the interview with her friends Jenny Mollen and husband Jason Biggs is pretty fun. And Walking Dead fans will love today’s episode. We also got an Oscar winner added to the queue. So add some titles to your list and get ready to relax and stream.
2016’s winner for Best Picture is now on Netflix. It’s the true story of a team of reporters from the Boston Globe and how they uncovered a monster scandal involving child molestation, priests, and cover-ups that rocked the Catholic Church. It has an amazing cast including Michael Keaton, Mark Ruffalo, Liev Schreiber, Rachel McAdams, Stanley Tucci, Billy Crudup… Seriously. It’s full of fantastic actors. It also is one of the best films I have seen in quite some time. Compelling from beginning to end. Put this one at the top of your list.
Grey’s Anatomy Season 12
Say goodbye to your own work week woes and lose yourself in the lives of doctors and their problems. This medical drama has plenty of action and relationship fireworks. You’ll be hooked stat. (See what what I did there?)
The Fundamentals of Caring
Paul Rudd is a writer turned caregiver who begins work for a shut-in teen with an attitude. They embark on a road trip and find friendship and hope along the way. It’s a tale we’re all familiar with. That being said, they manage to pull off a sweet, watchable film. Paul Rudd (does that guy EVER age?) is as charming as ever and Craig Roberts is great in his role as the surly teenage boy. It’s funny and warm and a solid buddy movie. It’s worth adding to the watch list.
