Back in July of 2015, Netflix released ‘Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp’ which was a prequel to the 2001 cult classic ‘Wet Hot American Summer’. The new Netflix revival consisted of 1 season and was praised by fans of the 2001 movie.

What made this Netflix original unique is that (give or take a couple faces) they managed to get most of the cast back to reprise their roles fourteen years later. But because the series is a prequel to the original, they are actually playing younger versions of themselves.

To the delight of fans, Netflix has announced that they will be releasing the second part of this revival series on the 4th of August in the form of eight episodes. The series will be set 10 years after the events of the first movie and will follow the reunion of the campers that haven’t seen each other since 1981. If you like the sound of this show then you should definitely consider watching the 2015 prequel and the 2001 movie before sitting down to binge-watching this mini-series.

What’s The Show About?

Set in 1991, this new series follows the campers and counselors that you know and love as they reunite once again at Camp Firewood. The newly reformed group must now save the old camp after the distraught owner announces that she’s selling up. Even though they are older, doesn’t mean they don’t still act like teenagers and you will find all the tropes and gags that fans loved from the 2001 movie and Netflix’s prequel that definitely made Wet Hot American Summer what it is.

Ten Years Later  Cast

Since 2001 a number of cast members have risen in fame and become quite well-known stars. The returning cast includes Amy Poehler, Chris Pine, David Hyde Pierce, Paul Rudd, Elizabeth Banks, Kristen Wiig and many more who reprised their roles from the original. One actor that is not due to return is, unfortunately, Bradly Cooper, even though he is part of the opening trailer he is rumored to be too busy to take part in the second Netflix series.

Although some new members have also been announced including Alyssa Milano, Adam Scott, and Dax Shepard.

Release Date

It’s been 2 years now since Netflix debuted the first revival series ‘First day of Camp’ and on Friday, August 4th 10 Years Later ‘ will be released worldwide and will consist of 8 episodes. Because it’s a mini-series we, unfortunately, don’t expect there to be a second season.
