Bones has been on Netflix for quite some time but you’ll notice there’s been a shakeup recently with the number of seasons currently streaming. Below, we’ll take a look at where Bones is streaming on Netflix, when new seasons come and most importantly, what happened to seasons 1 to 4 of Bones on Netflix US?
Just time for a quick recap of the show. Bones is among the dozens of fantastic FOX shows that the network has produced in recent years. It’s a crime drama and if you’re rolling your eyes thinking “another one?”, hear me out. The series is based on the forensic sides of crime using advanced techniques to discover what happens to victims. It ran for 12 seasons with season 12 having wrapped up on March 28th, 2017.

Where is Bones streaming on Netflix?
The series is available on a lot of regions. Here’s just a selection of the biggest regions on Netflix and what seasons they stream:
- Brazil (Seasons 1 to 10)
- Canada (Seasons 1 to 11)
- Colombia (Season 1 to 10)
- Denmark (Season 1 to 11)
- Japan (Seasons 6 to 10)
- Mexico (Season 1 to 10)
- Norway (Seasons 1 to 11)
- Sweden (Seasons 1 to 11)
- USA (Seasons 5 to 11)
For the United Kingdom, Sky owns the rights to the show and you’ll find it streaming on their NowTV service. As for Australia, Foxtel carries the show. Given what we cover below, don’t expect Netflix to pick it up in either of these regions.
Why isn’t Season 1 to 4 on Netflix US?
As part of a massive FOX exodus on Netflix throughout April 2017, Fox removed the first four seasons of the show. This happens with longer series on Netflix that they chose to only carry the later seasons as it’s likely they’d be the most wanted and helps save with costs.
As for whether seasons 1 to 4 will return the answer is unlikely. We think that Netflix will get season 12 of the show (expected later this year) before removing it entirely next year. That’s just a guess but we think both Fox and Netflix are breaking up and it’ll continue over the next few years.
