Mindhunter has become one of the most popular Netflix Original’s to date despite only having one season. It’s been a long wait for the desired second season and it already looks like it won’t fail to disappoint. So make sure you know when Mindhunter will be available to stream in your region.
There’s a fascination with serial killers that resonates immensely among the general public. The evidence for this can be showcased by the overwhelming viewing figures on Netflix and other networks for crime-dramas and docuseries. All that considered it’s easy to see why Netflix’s Mindhunter became one of the network’s smash-hit shows of 2017. A series based on the origin of the research that went into creating the term ‘serial killer’ would be fascinating in anyone’s book.
After making headway with their research, Holden got too cocky and his confrontation with Ed Kemper resulted in a nervous breakdown. But Holden and his partner Bill Tench must continue their research into interviewing some of America’s most dangerous killers, including the infamous Charles Manson. A serial killer targeting children in Atlanta also attracts the attention of the FBI, in the hope of catching the killer they send Holden and Tench to figure out who the murderer is.

Will the second season be the last of Mindhunter?
There will be many fans out there, we at What’s on Netflix included, that hope this isn’t the last we’ll see of Mindhunter.
A renewal for a third season will be reliant on how many subscribers come back to watch the second season. Considering the popularity of the first season, we don’t see this becoming an issue.
We do believe there’s a high chance that the series won’t make it past the third season. That has nothing to do with the reputation of Netflix canceling shows in the third season, this is because the story may not have enough legs to run for longer than three seasons.
