The first month of the year is always a rather dull affair but Netflix DVD is here to save the day. They’ve got a list of plentiful titles ready to take away the January blues. Here’s your preview of the next month of new releases on Netflix’s DVD rental company.
If you’ve never heard of the DVD platform, allow us to introduce you. The DVD platform literally contains tens of thousands of titles to rent and enjoy ranging from movies to boxsets. It makes an excellent companion to Netflix’s streaming division.
New DVD / Bluray Releasing on January 2019 on Netflix DVD
January will be a little quiet when it comes to mega-blockbusters but there’s still a few headline movies that are absolutely worthy of your time.
Let’s start off with First Man. The Ryan Gosling flick seems to have been relatively forgotten from the 2018 movie lineup but it certainly doesn’t deserve to. The biopic looks to retell the story of the first moon landing from the perspective of Neil Armstrong. Although it’s a feel-good story, it certainly does shine a light into how dangerous the Apollo missions were and what the families of the astronauts were put through.
Our second highlight is the wonderful sequel to Goosebumps. The second movie sees the return of Jack Black to tell another spooky story that’s fit for the entire family.
New TV Boxsets Releasing in January 2019 on Netflix DVD
January will see the boxset release of the next Doctor Who series which sees a big change for the Doctor as he regenerates into a she. More time traveling adventures are to be had in season 11 of Doctor Who now becoming available on Netflix DVD.
Sticking with sci-fi our second highlight is Killjoys from Syfy. The show continues to grow in popularity as it headed into its fourth season in 2018 and will now be available on Netflix DVD.
