When Will Disney’s Beauty and the Beast be on Netflix?

Beauty and the Beast is a classic tale that’s been told in the animated format, and in 2017 we’ll be getting a live action format too. Thanks to a partnership between Netflix and Disney, we know it’ll be coming to Netflix. The question is when the new movie is coming and if the animated movie is streaming on Netflix too.

As we’ve covered in multiple places on What’s on Netflix, the Disney contract is in full effect with us getting regular Netflix releases. We’ve seen Finding Dory already added this year and two additions just this month (March 2017) in the form of Pete’s Dragon and The BFG. We’ve even got a dedicated page just for Disney movies coming to Netflix.

Netflix US Beauty and the Beast Release Date

Using our table from earlier, we can predict, given all the past releases from Disney on Netflix that we’ll likely be getting the movie available on streaming between August 2017 and October 2017. We’re giving it a three month period as some movies have released on either end of the spectrum up until now.

Other Netflix Regions Release Date

Canada will also likely get the new movie too although and perhaps even earlier than the US release date. We’ll update this post when we have more information on that.

For those in the United Kingdom, you’re out of luck as Sky usually snaps up the rights pretty quickly. You may find that Disney Life, the subscription service ran by Disney may get the movie too if having a Sky subscription isn’t for you.

Original 1991 Beauty and the Beast on Netflix?

For those looking for the original Beauty and the Beast on Netflix first released in 1991, you’ll be hard pressed in the regions we’ve covered above. The animated hit is, however, available on Netflix in most European countries including Austria, Switzerland, Belgium and the Netherlands.
