Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 is coming to Netflix for everyone in the United States as part of the big Disney deal. Here’s what you need to know about Guardians of the Galaxy vol 2 coming to Netflix.

For those uninitiated with the Guardians of the Galaxy universe it exists (somewhat) in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and is a must watch if you’re watching any other of the Marvel franchises at the moment such as The Avengers, Thor, Iron Man or Captain America. It’s set in a different galaxy where Star-Lord (played by Chris Pratt) is on the sniff to find one of the infinity stones that’s alluded to throughout the Marvel universe. The galaxy is filled with interesting

The galaxy is filled with interesting bizarre and interesting characters and while Marvel wasn’t sure on the type of success Guardians would have, they are probably glad they made the movie as it’s gone on to be a massive success. The second movie is just around the corner so let’s cover when it’ll eventually come to Netflix.

Just to recap the Disney deal quickly. The deal began in 2016 and saw titles from Disney, Marvel, and Lucasfilm come to Netflix around 6-8 months after. At the time of writing, we’ve already seen around half a dozen movies added including animated title Moana and next month we’ll have the first Marvel movie, Doctor Strange.

Netflix Release Date

Two regions will definitely get Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 and that’s the USA and Canada. For the USA, we predict that it’ll be available six to seven months after it first premieres in the cinemas. In which case, that means we can expect it in October or November 2017.

For Canada, you can expect it even sooner with a September 2017 release date likely although it’s a little harder to predict.

Is Guardians of the Galaxy 1 on Netflix?

As for the first Guardians of the Galaxy, we suggest that you go out and buy plane tickets to Canada as that’s the only region currently streaming the first movie. Sadly, the Disney deal in the US doesn’t extend to older titles (with notable exceptions) and it’s unlikely that the first will come to Netflix anytime soon.
