The latest season of Disenchantment was added to Netflix in September, and it didn’t take long before the series was renewed. What’s even better is we’ve recently learned that part 3 is already in production and will be arriving on Netflix sometime in 2020. Here’s when season 3 of Disenchantment will be on Netflix.

Netflix’s flagship animated sitcom, Disenchantment, came from the mind of the creator of The Simpsons and Futurama, Matt Groening. Despite the anticipation and hype, Disenchantment got off to a rocky start with part one but has since found its feet during part two.

We once again follow the adventure of Bean and her friends Elfo and Luci, the personal demon.

The second part of Disenchantment rounds out season 1 as it sees Princess Bean help restore her father’s kingdom, travel to hell to revive Elfo and see what’s ahead.

Before we move on, let’s just cover the naming convention for Disenchantment. Similar to The Ranch which works in parts, the show splits each season into two halves.

Each season consists of 20 episodes with those split into 10-episode parts. As of right now, the show has already been renewed for a full season 2.

We now have confirmation that Part 3 will be arriving in 2020, and further episodes will arrive sometime in 2021:

Given the current timeline, we can expect part 3 to arrive between August and October 2020. It was pushed back a month between parts 1 and 2 so October is likely the latest date we’ll see it.

Given its fast renewal, however, we may see it arrive on Netflix sooner but it’s unlikely. It has been revealed in a podcast, however, that production actually started on part 3 back in May 2019.

What to expect from part 3 of Disenchantment

Warning: spoilers for Disenchantment episode 10 from part 2 follow.

By the end of part 2, the kingdom ruled by King Zøg looks in peril. King Zøg himself is incapacitated.  Princess Bean herself is having a hard time in the kingdom with rumors of her being a witch going around. She was imprisoned. Bean is then rescued by the executioner with the help of Bunty. She heads back to her father but once again gets captured.

She faces her public execution and while the stake is burning, Bean crash lands into an underground pit surrounded by hundreds, if not thousands, of little elf-like creatures. Many are calling these creatures Trogs which have featured before in Disenchantment but have been hidden.

There’s plenty of other questions looming for part 3 too. These include the prophecy itself needing to be fleshed out, the new pirate queen and her ongoing role, whether Zøg will get back to full health after being shot, whether Odval will get his comeuppance and of course, that ending.

We’re also seeing the kingdom adapt fast in terms of technology with electricity and medicine introduced.
