When will Season 2 of ‘Hotel Transylvania’ be on Netflix?

Netflix just got all 26 episodes of the first season of Hotel Transylvania season 1 which also includes the additional shorts. Sadly, it looks as though the series won’t be continuing beyond its first season so naturally won’t be coming to Netflix.

The comedy series aimed at kids serves as a prequel series to the fantastic Hotel Transylvania movies which have both streamed on Netflix over the years. The series first debuted last year on Disney Channel in the United States. It went onto release most of the episodes but a few have only now released on Netflix.

Only 18 episodes of season 1 aired in the United States on Disney Channel. It’s not clear why Disney Channel didn’t air the remaining episodes but that could indicate it decided to ditch the project. Episodes 19 through to 26 released exclusively on Netflix on June 25th.

Has the series been renewed?

The series has yet to get an official renewal. The license is shared between Disney in the US and Teletoon in Canada. Given that Disney didn’t continue airing the remaining episodes it’s likely Teletoon will have to produce the series on its own.

There’s a chance that Netflix could step in an take over the international distribution and give the series another batch of episodes. With that said, we’ve not heard of any such plan so we should assume the series does not get renewed.

One outlet even goes as far as to say that the show has officially been axed but we’ve yet to hear it from Disney themselves.

We do have some goods news!

Given the outlook on a potential second season looks poor, we thought we’d throw in some good news. The third Hotel Transylvania movie is set to release this September and like the previous two, will eventually stream on Netflix. This won’t be until mid-way through 2019 but it’s still something to look forward to.
