Hawaii Five-0 has now entered its ninth season on CBS surpassing over 200 episodes and if you’re looking for when the new batch will be on Netflix, here’s a look at the release schedule for the show on Netflix.
The reboot of the classic CBS series has now been on our screens since 2010 and shows no sign of slowing down. The series didn’t initially appear on Netflix. It was only in 2015 that the older seasons were added and new seasons added ever since.
Season 10 of the show hasn’t been announced but according to TVLine, it’s future isn’t doubt saying that season 10 is “a safe bet.”
Let’s take a little look at season 9 and most importantly when you’ll be watching on Netflix.
Season 9 Release Date for Netflix US
For those in the United States, CBS renews their content on an annual basis. While you can’t use Netflix to catch up on the episodes as they release weekly, you will get the whole season dumped in 2019 instead. Typically, new seasons of Hawaii Five-0 come to Netflix in either June or July. Season 8, for example, dropped on July 1st, 2018. That means we’re expecting the series to arrive between June and July 2019.
Beyond the US only a few Asian countries carry the show. These include Hong Kong, Singapore, South Korea and Thailand. At the time of writing, these regions are waiting for the seventh season to be added so it’s likely you’ll have several years of wait until season 9 arrives.
Will Hawai Five-0 Leave Netflix?
With many providers pulling their content from Netflix could CBS be next? The answer is possibly but at the moment, we’re going to assume that’s not going to happen. Newer CBS shows tend to stay exclusive to the networks brand new streaming platform CBS All Access.
Older shows, like Hawaii Five-0 are likely covered on so-called “legacy contracts” where as long as the show keeps producing new seasons, Netflix has first dibs on the streaming rights.
