A Quiet Place is a new Drama/Horror film directed by, and starring John Krasinski. It released in cinemas in early April, and since its debut, it has been received very positively by both official critics and the public. Often when it comes to Horror films, many people prefer to watch them in the comfort of their own home, so they can hide behind a pillow if they need to. That’s why below we’ve taken some time to talk about the film, and whether it will be coming to Netflix anytime in the future.

The film is the latest production from Michael Bay’s company Platinum Dunes, who was also behind other horror films including the The Purge franchise. Along with John Krasinski, the film also stars his real-life wife Emily Blunt. The story follows a family in the year 2020 after most of the human race has been completely wiped out by an invasion of aliens with hypersensitive hearing. They must live their lives in constant silence and fear, as even the slightest sound could attract one of the brutal creatures. At the time of writing, the film has grossed a total of $151 million worldwide and has been praised for its clever writing and suspenseful horror.

As we mentioned earlier, there are quite a lot of people who will avoid going to see a Horror film in the cinema no matter how well it seems to be doing with critics. This is perfectly fine; it just might mean they have to wait a little longer until it becomes available to stream online. But how long exactly would it take to arrive on a streaming platform like Netflix?

Will A Quiet Place Come to Netflix?

Now, whether this film actually comes to Netflix at all will depend on a few aspects. The first and often the most important aspect is the production and distribution company. Paramount Pictures is in charge of distribution for the movie, meaning things are looking reasonably promising. Recently, Netflix and Paramount have formed a sort of companionship. The two recent Netflix Originals, Cloverfield Paradox and Annihilation, were both Paramount Productions that were brought to Netflix instead of releasing in theaters. Also, Paramount is the parent company of DreamWorks, who themselves have a healthy relationship with Netflix.

On the other hand, US Netflix currently doesn’t host any of Platinum Dunes’ films.

At the moment, we can roughly say there is a 50/50 chance that A Quiet Place will come to Netflix. Either way, you would still have to wait a significant amount of time until Netflix could get their hands on the streaming rights. We could expect the film to arrive in February/March 2019.

If we hear of any developments that might affect the likeliness or the date of arrival, we will update this article.

What about Netflix DVD?

If you happen to have a Netflix DVD account, then you won’t have to wait in uncertainty for long. The service will be sure to get the film on DVD/Blu-ray, but only after the official DVD release. This release is currently set for July 10th, 2018.
