Bob’s Burgers made a slow exit from Netflix throughout 2017 and we’ve had many questions asking whether the series will ever be coming back to the Netflix. The answer is sadly, no. We’ll explain why and bring you up to date below.
The FOX animated sitcom created by Loren Bouchard is all about a family running a downtrodden burger joint. The show has been running since 2011 and is now into its eighth season. The show against Family Guy is infinitely smarter with it relying on parody segments for the big laughs. Among the voice actors on the show are H Jon Benjamin, Kristen Schaal, John Roberts, Dan Mintz and Eugene Mirman.
So as with the other FOX titles such as Futurama and Family Guy, they all moved over to Hulu late last year. Last summer, Netflix announced that it was ending its relationship with FOX and therefore would be removing most of its shows.
With Disney’s upcoming purchase of Fox, it’ll likely keep their titles on Hulu given that they own the majority of the streaming platform.
Titles like American Horror Story has remained but Bob’s Burgers was one of the casualties and it’s permanent.
When and why did Bob’s Burgers leave Netflix?
As we’ve shown you before, here was how Netflix was adding new seasons to Netflix and subsequently removed them too.
- 09/15/2014: Seasons 1 – 3 added to Netflix US
- 04/01/2015: Season 4 Added
- 04/01/2016: Season 5 Added
- 04/01/2017: Seasons 3-5 Removed
- 05/07/2017: Seasons 1-2 Removed
- Later in 2017: Remaining seasons removed
What should you watch on Netflix instead?
With all the Fox shows leaving Netflix, it’s left quite a big gap on Netflix for streaming animated sitcoms. A few remain from Comedy Central but beyond that, you’re completely down to Netflix Original content. Titles like Big Mouth, F is for Family and Bojack Horseman are all currently streaming on Netflix right now and of course, there’s also the Matt Groening project coming to Netflix in summer 2018 too.
What other regions stream Bob’s Burgers?
One other region is currently streaming Bob’s Burgers. Netflix Canada has season 1 through to 4 so therefore is quite behind.
