Will ‘Family Guy’ Come Back to Netflix?

Unfortunately, we saw Family Guy completely leave Netflix back in February of 2018. This came after some of the newer seasons were removed from Netflix earlier in 2017. Below we will be covering why they were removed, will they ever return and where can you stream them now.

Before we get into whether the show will return to Netflix at any point in the future, we thought it would be a good idea to cover why the show was removed in the first place. Last year the contract between Netflix and FOX was not renewed. This meant that many FOX shows including Family Guy, Futurama, and American Dad had to depart our screens. Netflix has faced criticism from the thousands of fans that enjoyed watching the FOX shows and the removal was a decisive blow for Netflix’s library, which seems to have been shrinking in recent years. The Animated sitcom was created by Seth MacFarlane and first aired all the way back in January 1999. The show follows the lives and adventures of the Griffen family, including the father Peter, the mother Lois and their three children Meg, Chris and Stewie. Of course, you can’t forget about the English-speaking dog of the family Brian. There are currently a total of 306 episodes that span and cover countless storylines and hilarious jokes. The show has won a total of 7 Primetime Emmys, although has received criticism about it being too similar to The Simpsons, despite a crossover episode in 2014.

Where else can you stream Family Guy in the US and UK?

For anyone living in the US, it isn’t all bad news. Currently, all 306 (16 Seasons) are available for you to stream on demand on Hulu. Although if you don’t have access to Hulu but do have a log-in for cable you can view the entire show on the official Fox website.

Things are a little more complicated in the UK as neither Hulu or the Fox website are available. One somewhat expensive way to get your hands on the show is to buy the series on Amazon Video. Another option, although limited, is going to the ITV Website and watching the episodes that are currently available there.

Will Family Guy return to Netflix?

Since Disney bought up Fox it is looking increasingly unlikely that Netflix will ever get the opportunity to renew the contract. Especially with the possibility of Disney bringing out their own streaming service in the future. It sounds bad, but we suspect that there is next to no chance of us seeing Seth Macfarlanes animated shows return to Netflix.
