Will Katy Keene Season 1 be on Netflix?

Katy Keene – The CW

Katy Keene, the latest entry into the Archie franchise is due to premiere on The CW later this year. Will season 1 of Katy Keene be coming to Netflix like Riverdale and Chilling Adventures of Sabrina? Let’s take a look.

The new series set in the Riverdale universe stars Lucy Hale who has been a regular on The CW with her most recent appearance being in the short-lived Life Sentence, currently streaming on Netflix, FYI.

The series is being developed by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa who is also behind Riverdale and Chilling Adventures of Sabrina that airs exclusively on Netflix. Naturally, the show that’s set in the universe will make a perfect fit in the Netflix library but unlike previous years, it’s not guaranteed to be coming to Netflix.

The new series will see a group of aspiring artists trying to get to Broadway.

When will Katy Keene be on Netflix in the United States

In the United States, had the series released last year, it’d have definitely come to Netflix. Instead, each title is now been shipped to individual streaming networks. Batwoman which is also due to premiere this year is pegged for the new Warner streaming service.

A report from Deadline did say that Netflix was interested in picking up Katy Keene and the other The CW show, Nancy Drew.

So when would Katy Keene release on Netflix? At the moment, it’s not clear whether shows will continue to come to Netflix 7 days after the show’s finale or later as it did before 2016. In either case, we should see Katy Keene season 1 be on Netflix in 2020 at some point.

Will Katy Keene be on Netflix in other regions?

Much like the United States, it’s simply too early to tell. Again, it’d make sense as nearly all regions outside of the US carries the other two Archie comics shows. In fact, Riverdale is pitched as a Netflix Original in most regions too.

Again, it probably won’t be until closer to its release date in the fall when we hear of what the streaming plans are. In all cases of The CW shows on Netflix outside of the US right now, new episodes drop weekly.
