Will Season 1 of ‘Manifest’ be on Netflix?

Manifest is the latest big NBC drama to rival that of The Blacklist. The new series has got off to a great start on the network and if you’re wondering whether it’s coming to Netflix, you’ve come to the right place. Here’s a look at whether season 1 of Manifest will be on Netflix.

The new NBC drama sits alongside the likes of The Blacklist to help it compete against not only its network rivals but also the likes of Netflix and Amazon Prime. NBC’s been struggling against the streaming giants but has had a lot of success of the years with their comedy lineup. The Blacklist changed this and Manifest looks to continue the success.

Starring Melissa Roxburgh, this epic drama sees a plane run into a bit of turbulence but when it finally lands, they discover five years have passed. The series has whiffs of the likes of LOST, The Leftovers and This is Us.

Is Manifest on Netflix US?

Given how new the show is and that fact it’s still airing, longterm streaming plans have yet to be established for the show.

In the United States, the show is currently available as a catchup option on both NBC and Hulu at the moment. Hulu is the logical longterm home for the show given NBC has a stake in the streaming provider. However, should the show’s episodes start leaving Hulu, this will suggest another streaming provider has acquired it.

If Netflix does pick up Manifest, don’t expect the first season to arrive until around September/October 2019 as NBC always drops new seasons before new seasons start to air on NBC.

Other Netflix Regions

Unlike The Good Place and Good Girls, where Netflix picked up the shows as Netflix Originals, that hasn’t happened with Manifest. As of yet, very few regions have announced which TV channel or streaming provider is carrying Manifest. It’s likely they’re waiting until the viewing figures are complete to see if it’s a worthy investment.

At the moment then, it looks as though you’ll have to hold out for Manifest on Netflix. Should the series become a big success like The Blacklist, we think Netflix may look to pounce on the rights of the show.
