FX’s Atlanta has been regarded as the best breakthrough in comedy for many years with its average critic score being well ahead of the competition and it also is one of the best new debut shows to come out of 2016 but will we be seeing season 1 of Atlanta joining Netflix anytime soon?

What is this refreshing new comedy show I hear you ask? Well, it comes from the mind of Donald Glover who’s mostly known for his role on NBC’s Community as well as starring in last years The Martian. Donald, before becoming an actor, was heavily involved in rap music and that founds the basis of the show.

It stars Donald Glover as Earnest Marks, Brian Tyree Henry as Alfred Miles and Keith Standfield as Darius as they attempt to become recognised names in the Atlanta rap scene and make it in the world.

The series premiered on FX on September 6th, 2016 and is due to wrap up its first season on October 25th, 2016 and with a second season to be confirmed to be in the works, now would be a great time to find out whether or not Atlanta is going to be on Netflix’s radar in the near future.

As of right now, we think that Atlanta would be highly attractive to Netflix but without an official confirmation, we have to look at previous examples and FX’s other shows on Netflix. Atlanta is currently only available in streaming form on FX’s own platform with it skipping out on giving new episodes to Hulu.

Given FX’s large catalog and continued renewal of its content on the service, we think Netflix will be getting the series but it won’t be until a month or so before season 2 which at this point will be in August/September 2017.

Of course, Amazon Prime or Hulu Plus could make a move and snap up the show exclusively and that could a strong possibility given the shows popularity.

As soon as we hear word as to where Atlanta will be streaming, we’ll let you know first here on What’s on Netflix.
