Santa Clarita Diet season 1 launched on February 3rd, 2017 and with it came ten episodes of great comedy. Drew Barrymore comes to Santa Clarita Diet off the back of a few years away from the industry. She was subject to a lot of press over the past few years similar to that of Winona Ryder who is also now a Netflix Original show. She plays the role of the zombie who discovers she’s dead after throwing up. Like a lot.
Timothy Olyphant plays the role of the realtor husband who has no idea what the heck is going on with her wife’s new condition. He’s most known for his role on Justified and his roles in various movies plus a brief role in The Office US.

- Skyler Gisondo plays the role of the nerdy next-door neighbor, Eric.

Episode 1 Guest Star
- Nathan Fillion star of Castle and Firefly plays Gary who continuously steps on Joel’s toes throughout the episode. He eventually (spoiler alert) comes to his demise by the end of the first episode.
- Andy Richter briefly stars at the beginning of the episode as the manager at the Realtors.
Episode 2 Guest Star
- Dr. Charles is played by Patton Oswalt who’s no stranger to Netflix with him presenting a string of his stand-up specials for the service.
- John Gemberling as Bundchen (comic book guy)

- The drug dealer who dumped Abby’s friend is played by Matt O’Leary and is actually on Instagram as Kid week

- Grace Zabriskie plays the principals grandmother. She’s most known for her role in the Twin Peaks series.
- Deobia Oparei stars as Loki Hayes (the guy Dan sent Joel to kill) who’s recently known for his role in the Game of Thrones series.
Episode 6
- Ryan Hansen appears as the supposed sex traffickers but in fact turns out to be having an affair with Dan’s wife. He’s most known for his role in Veronica Mars as well as a stint in 2 Broke Girls.
Episode 7
- Greg Fitzsimmons made a brief appearance as a sheriff’s deputy
- Natalie Morales played the role of Anne Garcia

Bonus: The zombie town subreddit, unlike Kid weed on Instagram, was banned three years ago.
