Cable Girls or La Chicas del Cable is the latest foreign Netflix Original series to land on Netflix and fans have taken to the first 8 episodes quite fondly. You may be looking for season 2 of Cable Girls but in fact, the first season has more episodes to come. Let’s take a look at when new episodes will come to Netflix.

Spoken in Spanish but available with English dub as well as English subtitles the series takes place in the 1920’s in Madrid. The series mainly deals with feminism and follows the stories of four girls who work in a telecoms company as operators. Their job is to connect calls through a switchboard. It then deals with their family lives. The themes it covers are apt and relevant even in today’s society.

Season 1 part 1 came to Netflix on April 28th, 2017 with the first eight episodes.

As we mentioned above, the first season has been split up into two halves. This isn’t too dissimilar to what other Netflix Originals are doing where they regularly release new episodes throughout the year. That also means we expect the series to release the first part of each new season each year as the show clearly has plenty of room to grow and morph.

Other Netflix Originals to this have been Black Mirror and The Ranch. The latter is releasing new episodes every six months and given the series is produced by a traditional television production we suspect the same will happen with Cable Girls.

That means we can likely expect season 1 part 2 of Cable Girls coming around October 2017 and season 2 part 1 to arrive as soon as April 2018.

In the meantime, we suggest you check out Grand Hotel and Velvet which are two other Spanish series which have massive fan appeal in the States and beyond. There’s also some other great foreign Netflix Originals such as 3% and Marseille.
