Best 90’s Kids TV Series on Netflix

Alice Willis What's on Netflix Avatar

If you were born in the 1980’s or 1990’s then the chances are you used to binge watch some of these shows. They were the shows you looked forward to watching every day and look back on now with fondness and nostalgia.

It’s worth noting that most of your childhood memories will likely to be linked to Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon titles. Sadly, most of these cannot be found on Netflix because in the case of Cartoon Network, it lost most of its library a couple of years ago. With Nickelodeon, Netflix doesn’t have a relationship with its parent company, Viacom anymore.

Goosebumps

Stine’s award-winning books and will take you back to your childhood memories where you’d come home and watch a new episode.

The Real Ghostbusters

Released: 1990
Seasons available: 5

We all know that annoyingly catchy theme tune when we hear it, to the point where even those who never watched Ghostbusters growing up dance at the sound of the song. The show was one of the biggest cartoons on screen during the 1980s because of its cheesy lines, dark stories and teamwork while exterminating ghosts. This is the type of show that generations since have enjoyed, and generations to come will also. Ghostbusters is a spinoff of the previous 1984 comedy movie and involves lots of spooky shadows for the team to capture. The show stars Frank Welker and Maurice LaMarche as the two main characters. So, who you gonna call?

The Magic School Bus

Released: 1997
Seasons Available: 4

Learning about Science is made fun with the 1990s series The Magic School Bus. Whether it’s going to outer space or under the ocean, the bus will take you there. You may be thinking: how does a bus go into all these different places? Well, it can shrink, transform and change depending on where they want to go. This series, as any kids TV show, has many morals and is an educational experience for children. Ms Frizzle is a teacher like no other – she takes her students on the most exciting adventures to different places and therefore gives them a different outlook on the world of Science. The Magic School Bus is based on the book series of the same name, which was written by Joanna Cole and Bruce Degen.

Ninja Turtles: The Next Mutation

1997 brought us the 17-year-old Ninja Turtles but this time with a new female edition named Venus – all five of the turtles have their own quirks and stories.
