January never has been the best month when it comes to new Netflix releases, after all, the world is only now coming back to life after a long Christmas break and just getting their feet under the tables. This month has surpassed what I expected however with some top notch additions including quite a few seasons of shows that were due quite some time ago.

Here’s our top 10 picks from the releases that have already been released or are due to be released in January 2016.

10. From Dusk Till Dawn (Season 2)

Released on January 25th

From Dusk Till Dawn Season 2

This AMC always had a lot of pressure riding on it going into its first season. The show based upon the legendary movie by Robert Rodrigeuz along with Quentin Tarantino still holds up well to modern day standards so a series had a lot to live up to. The TV series has really hit its stride in its second series and is actually worth getting into this month if you’re at a loss for something to binge through.

9. Sharknado 3 (2015)

Released on January 22nd

Sharknado 3 Netflix

Sharknado rarely enters any top lists, unless they’re in the top 10 worst movies list, but there’s something about Sharknado that makes it a compelling watch. The principal is simple, the sharks are back and they’re being carried by tornadoes to kill you. It’s purposely low-budget looking and is terrible but somehow you keep watching. It’s one of SyFy’s biggest successes and should be experience if not enjoyed.

8. Z Nation (Season 2)

Released on January 17th

Z Nation Season 2

Also from the SyFy library this month has been an update to their zombie series to rival the likes of The Walking Dead, Z Nation. After the country has been plagued by a virus it’s down to a team of survivors to transport a known survivor of the zombie virus to a lab. It’s gritty, gory and one of the best zombie titles on Netflix.

7. Meet the Fockers / Meet the Parents (2000 – 2004)

Released on January 1st

Meet the Parents

We’ve grouped these two together so we could get some extra titles on this list and when both the original and sequel are added to Netflix is gives extra value to subscribers. The Ben Stiller comedy starring Robert De Niro, Dustin Hoffman and Barbra Streisand among others still holds up as a great comedy franchise to this day and to a lesser extent Little Fockers.

6. New Girl (Season 4)

Released on January 5th

New Girl Season 4

New Girl kicked off a new era of comedy on Fox in 2011 and this is one of the few comedy series that still continues to grow and get better every year. Season 4 continues the story of a young girl forced to move into a flat with three other men dealing with growing up and settling into mature relationships and careers.
