10. Magi Adventure of Sinbad

Written by Shnobu Ohtaka and illustrated by Yoshifumi Ohtera, ‘Magi Adventure of Sinbad’ tells the story of Sinbad, a former king who prides himself in capturing Dungeons. He is joined by the members of the ‘Eight Generals’, his most trusted companions. He is also the president of the world’s most powerful company ‘Sindria Trading Company’. The show aired in 2013 and consisted of 13 episodes.

9. Bleach

Bleach follows a high school Student Kurosaki Ichigo, ever since a young age, Ichigo has been unique, mainly because he can see spirits from the afterlife. After being viciously attacked my a Hollow spirit, both Ichigo and his two sisters are helped by Shinigami (Death God, Pretty much a Grim Reaper) whose duty is to send good spirits to “Soul Society” (Heaven) and to purify Hollows. Unfortunately, the Death God is injured during the fight and must pass his powers onto the young Kurosaki Ichigo, and he must proceed to start training in the ways of the Shinigami.

8. Black Butler

Black Butler is quite a well-known anime series and is about a young boy Ciel, who sells his soul to a devil in exchange for a chance to avenge his Family’s death and be able to lead their toy manufacturing company with great success. The devil decides to take the form of a butler, permanently dressed in black that serves the young boy.

7. Fate Zero

Fate Zero is the story of seven magi who summon heroic spirits to compete in the fourth grand battle for the Holy Grail, a magical artifact that can grant any wish. The animations are well praised, along with the character development and enjoyable plot and content.

6. Death Note

When a high school student (Yagami Raito) finds a magical notebook that kills anyone whose name he writes in the book. The boy attempts to eliminate criminals and evil using the book to create a “Utopia”. The authorities start to worry and assign a detective known simply as “L”, who attempts to stop the unlawful deaths. This is an action/thriller anime that will keep you on the edge of your seat and glued to the screen.

5. Attack on Titan

Set in 2000 years time, where humanity is nearly exterminated by the titans who are incredibly large, stupid and brutal creatures. One city has managed to survive due to its massive walls, that are taller than the largest titan. But after the wall is destroyed by a mysterious titan the city is sieged and two siblings (Erin and Mikasa) watch their mother being eaten alive, and they swear to take revenge, for them, and the whole human race.

4. Seven Deadly Sins

The Seven Deadly Sins are a group of knights that serve the region of Britannia. They are betrayed by the ‘Holy Knights’ after they are accused of plotting to overthrow the Liones Kingdom. After 10 years the Seven Deadly Sins are supposed to be dead but rumors are still circulating that they are still alive, and once the Holy Knight form a coup to become the new tyrannical rulers of the kingdom they must come back to help save the kingdom.

3. Durarara 1 & 2

Mikado Ryugamine is done with his boring mundane life, so he makes a life-changing decision to move to Ikebukuro, an area inside Tokyo after an old friend invites him. But he is now been thrown into a violent world full of mysterious gangs and dark rumors. Is this gonna be too much for Mikado, or will he be able to cope with his new life filled with deadly secrets. The show was admired for its focus on character’s backgrounds, and even though its not crammed with action, it still kept fans coming back for more, that’s why Durarara was loved.

2. Kill la Kill

A young girl called Ryuuko Matoi joins Hunnouji Academy (a school for superhumans) in the hope of finding her father’s killer, and avenging him. The Academy is very strictly ruled over and controlled by its student council and brutal president. Our protagonist carries an epic sword made out of half a pair of scissors, and the killer allegedly has the other half. The power of the council is too great for Ryuuko and she must find a way to tip the scales in her favor, so she can have her revenge.

1. Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood

Full Metal Alchemist follows who brothers who research and attempt to harness the power of “Alchemy” to attempt to bring back their mother who dies from an incurable disease. Their best efforts fail, and they are punished severely for even trying it, the older brother  (Edward Elric) loses a whole leg, but the younger brother gets it a little worse. Alphonse Elric gets him entire body taken, and to save his life the older brother must sacrifice another limb to save his soul and embed it into a suit of armor. Now it is down to Edward and his new metal limbs to discover the Philosopher’s Stone and return their bodies back to normal, even if he has to become an Alchemist for the military.
