Commonly known as The Rock, he’s one of the most down to earth and inspiring guys in Hollywood at the moment. 5. Empire State (2012)

Empire State was one of the big blockbusters of 2013 where ‘The Rock’ stars as Detective James Ransome who’s tasked with stopping two childhood friends from robbing an armoured car. Liam Hemsworth, Michael Angarano, Jerry Ferrera and Emma Roberts round out the cast in a very watchable crime thriller flick.
4. Doom (2005)

Video game movie adaptations and vice-versa usually are recipes for disaster. While Doom is far from perfect, it did manage to bring the classic first person shooter to life and was one of Dwayne Johnsons earlier movies cementing him as an action movie hero. The hour and forty-five-minute movie also starred Karl Urban, Rosamund Pike, Ben Daniels and Deobia Oparei.
3. Fast Five and Fast & Furious 6

We’ve grouped up the two Fast and Furious movies as not only are they very similar but both are currently available together on Netflix Canada. While we’re sad that Furious 7 isn’t available (it also stars Dwayne Johnson) we’re glad to see two Fast and Furious movies available on Netflix. The introduction of Dwayne Johnson into the Fast and Furious franchise marked a turning point for the film transforming it from a car movie into an action movie with cars.
Fast Five was released in 2011 and Fast and Furious 6 was released in 2013.
2. Pain & Gain (2013)

Nothing was stopping Pain & Gain from becoming a success back in 2013. It’s strong cast starring Dwayne Johnson, Mark Wahlberg and Marvel’s Anthony Mackie catapulted the movie up the box office charts in mid-2013. It’s about three bodybuilders who get caught up in the wrong circle and get involved with extortion and kidnapping. It’s directed by Michael Bay and is available on Netflix United Kingdom.

Although Dwayne Johnson is mostly known for his roles in high octane action thrillers, he’s also starred in a few comedy movies and in the case of Gridiron Gang, serious dramas. In Gridiron Gang, Dwayne stars as Sean Porter who is a counsellor that works at a juvenile detention centre and connects with the inmates through Football.
