October 2017 will be bringing with it several fantastic movies and we’ve gone and picked out the top 5 from the full list of titles coming to Netflix in October 2017. Just to give a quick summary of what you have to look forward to: we’ll be heading to a chocolate factory, spending an evening in Minnie’s Haberdashery, a day in the Sierra Leone conflict and spinning away with a getaway driver.
We’ll also have a list of the best new TV series coming next month too in the coming days.
5. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005)
Netflix Release Date: October 1st, 2017
Johnny Depp’s memorable performance as Willy Wonka will be coming to Netflix on the first day of the month. A modern remake of the famous Roald Dahl book see’s a selection of kids take a tour around the magical chocolate factory but the factory begins taking victims as the children’s worst qualities come into play. A fantastic movie for the whole family.
4. Blood Diamond (2006)
Netflix Release Date: October 1st, 2017
Nominated for five Oscars, this Leonardo Decaprio movie released back in 2006 will be shooting its way onto Netflix early in October. The policial war thriller see’s our two characters get involved in the Sierra Leone civil war in the 90’s as they make plenty of enemies when they get involved in the blood diamond trade.
3. Wheelman (2017) Netflix Original
Netflix Release Date: October 20th, 2017
Frank Grillo who you’ll recognize from his multiple appearances in recent Marvel movies will be hoping to make a new name for himself as Wheelman. Sharing some aspects with the video game that came before it, Grillo will play a getaway driver who gets a job wrong and has to go into hiding to protect his family.
2. 1922 (2017) Netflix Original

Stephen King’s titles have been huge in 2017 will many of his stories being adapted to movies and TV series. The next of his stories to get a movie is Netflix’s 1922. The movie will retell one of King’s most gruesome stories as a rancher conspires to murder his wife.
1. The Hateful Eight (2015)
Netflix Release Date: October 25th, 2017
Tarantino returns to the world of the wild west in The Hateful Eight. Starring many regular faces you’d expect from a Tarantino movie, this movie is the director’s twist on the ‘who done it’ movie. Stuck in a ranch during a snowstorm, there’s something not quite right with Minnie’s Haberdashery.
