It takes his back to his early days to show us what inspired his particular musical talent.

If you’re looking for a much longer documentary then this is your pick. Clocking in at 3 hours and 7 minutes, the documentary takes a look at the career of the American soft-rock band, Eagles. The band had most of their success during the 70’s and 80’s when rock reigned supreme. It takes a look at the Eagles as a whole while drilling down to each individual member to give you an insight as to how they became as big as they were.

A winner of over 14 awards and plenty more nominations, this documentary sets out to follow the jazz legend, Clark Terry. The documentary took over 4 years to make and follows Clark on his mission to train a blind piano player before entering a prestigious competition. It’s a gripping tale and your eyes will be glued to the screen as your realize that Justin Kauflin, the piano player, is in fact blind and that only makes his work more impressive.

Nominated for an Oscar in 2016 and by far one of the most insightful documentaries into such a iconic figure is What Happened, Miss Simone? The documentary produced exclusively for Netflix in 2015 documents the late, Nina Simone. Not only was she the best in her field when it came to classical music with the piano, she was also a standout activist that was labeled the High Priestess of Soul. The beautifully produced documentary is well paced and is by far the best musical documentary on Netflix.
