5. Haters Back Off Season 2 Netflix Original

Netflix Release Date: October 20th

This surprise hit is based on a fictional YouTube star named Miranda Sings, a character created and portrayed by Colleen Ballinger. Let’s not mince words here. It is one of most grating, annoying characters I have ever seen on television. Yet somehow it works. I wanted SO much to hate this show, but it’s so bizarre and cuckoo that it’s really funny. Give it a shot. You may be surprised, too.

4. Schitt’s Creek Season 3

Netflix Release Date: October 5th

In this CBC’s show, a wealthy couple suddenly finds themselves completely broke. With only one remaining asset, a small town they bought as a joke called Schitt’s Creek, they must give up their life as they once knew it and begin again in poverty. Starring indie golden couple Eugene Levy and Catherine O’Hara, this show is one of the best things currently on television. Can you ever really get enough of those two together? No. The answer is “no.”

3. The Mist

Netflix Release Date: October 24th

It seems like we just can’t get enough of Stephen King lately. Just in time for Halloween, this Spike show is based on his horror novella of the same name. In the town of Bridgeville, Maine, an unexplained mist slowly envelops creating an almost impenetrable barrier to visibility. The residents of the town soon learn the situation is even more precarious as hidden within the mist are numerous monsters of various sizes that attack and kill anything that moves. It’s a blend of horror and drama sure to give you goosebumps.

2. Mindhunter Netflix Original

Netflix Release Date: October 13th

This series is based on the book Mind Hunter: Inside FBI’s Elite Serial Crime Unit written by Special Agent John Douglas. He became a legendary figure in law enforcement, pursuing some of the most notorious and sadistic serial killers of our time: the man who hunted prostitutes for sport in the woods of Alaska, the Atlanta child murderer, and Seattle’s Green River killer to name just a few. He was also the model for Jack Crawford in The Silence of the Lambs. The series will be set in 1979 and will revolve around two FBI agents who interview imprisoned serial killers in order to understand how such criminals think and apply it to solving ongoing cases.

1. Stranger Things Season 2 Netflix Original

Netflix Release Date: October 27th

The new season we have all been waiting for is finally almost here. Season 2 will revolve around something called the “shadow monster,” a massive creature that appears to Will in a vision of the Upside Down.

“It’s all connected to this singular threat, which is tied into this shape that Will sees in the sky. Each episode is building on the last one. It gets much crazier than it ever got in season one.” – Creator Matt Duffer

Seeing as how crazy we all were for the first installment, that’s a pretty big promise.
