April showers brings opportunities for binge watching. Netflix has all your indoor time covered with plenty to watch in April.
It’s that time again where we take a look at the new content headed your way next month. In addition to the anticipated Original content, there are plenty of other outstanding movies arriving in April including Seven, Friday Night Lights, The Lost Boys, Scarface, Cold Mountain, Life Is Beautiful, and The Iron Giant.

5. 6 Balloons Netflix Original
Arriving April 6th
Abbi Jacobson (Broad City) and Dave Franco star in this tense film about the fraying family ties between a self-destructive heroin addict and his sister, who is collapsing under the weight of the latest in a long series of his impossible demands. Premiering at SXSW, the film has steadily gotten positive feedback.
4. Psychokinesis Netflix Original
Arriving April 25th
From acclaimed South Korean animator-turned-director Yeon Sang-ho, this film is about a father who sets out to save his troubled daughter with superpowers that he discovers he possesses. Yeon previously directed the zombie thriller Train to Busan which was a runaway hit when it premiered on Netflix. (Train to Busan is currently streaming and I highly recommend it.)
3. Amateur Netflix Original
Arriving April 6th
Netflix has become a welcome home for Indie movies. Selected and supported by the Sundance Screenwriters Lab, this film is about a 14-year-old basketball phenom who is confronted by corruption and greed in amateur sports after being recruited to an elite prep school.
2. Despicable Me 3 Dreamworks Early Release
Available April 5th
Steve Carell returns in this well-received sequel as Dru, a ‘scientist’ who teams up with his long-lost twin brother Dru in order to defeat a new enemy named Balthazar Bratt. Miranda Cosgrove, Dana Gaier, Kristen Wiig and Steve Coogan all return to their respective roles.
1. The Week Of Netflix Original
Arriving April 27th
Chris Rock and Adam Sandler reunite in this film about two fathers with rival personalities who come together to celebrate the wedding of their children. Forced to spend the longest week of their lives together, the big day cannot come soon enough.
