Top Movies Coming to Netflix US in June 2017

It’s time to look at what new movies are coming to Netflix US in June and pick out our top 5 and give you a few reasons why they should be in your Netflix queue next month. For a full list of the new movies and new series coming in June, check out our preview.

Netflix tends to renew a lot of movies on the first of the month and we’re purposely going to look over them for this article. A few of the good renewals include Catwoman, Full Metal Jacket, The Bucket List and The Sixth Sense.

5. Trolls (2016) Exclusive Dreamworks Early Release

The Disney deal is widely publicized but the Dreamworks has been running for many years now bringing the biggest Dreamworks animated movies to Netflix as well as many original series based on the movies. The next movie to be coming from Dreamworks is Trolls based on the tiny little creatures you probably recognize from your childhood. All singing and all dancing movie star Justin Timberlake and Anna Kendrick.

4. It’s Only The End of the World (2016)

Netflix Release Date: June 30th, 2017

On the 30th of June, Netflix will be releasing the 2016 independent French-Canadian drama movie It’s Only the End of the World. It’s a touching story about a playwriter who is having to deal with cancer and the fact he’ll soon die by returning home and informing his family. The movie will be available with English subtitles. It stars Marion Cotillard who you’ll know from Inception and The Dark Knight Rises.

3. How the Grinch Stole Christmas (2000)

Netflix Release Date: June 1st, 2017

With six months to go until Christmas, now is the perfect time to watch How The Grinch Stole Christmas. It’s one of the biggest Christmas movies of all time and it stars Jim Carrey in one of his most defining roles. As to why Netflix is adding The Grinch in summer is because of how movie licensing works and the reality is that this movie won’t be here when Christmas rolls around so watch now.

2. OKJA (2017) Netflix Original

Netflix Release Date: June 28th, 2017

OKJA has been getting rave reviews from industry critics when it first appeared in the Cannes Film Festival. It comes from legendary film director Bon Joon-ho who was given his biggest budget ever to produce the movie. It’s about a girl who has to go up against a corporation who has kidnapped her unique animal with the purpose of testing on it. It has a massive cast including Tilda Swinton, Paul Dano, Jake Gyllenhaal and Giancarlo Esposito.

1. Moana (2016) Exclusive Disney Early Release

Netflix Release Date: June 19th, 2017

The biggest Disney release of 2016 was undoubtedly Moana. The movie that looked at recreating the same success of Frozen a few years before it was beloved by fans from the get-go. It featured the voice talents of Dwayne Johnson and Auli’i Cravalho who have to conquer old demons to save Moana’s islands food resource.
