The Two Popes is now available to stream on Netflix Australia

In the last Friday before Christmas, its been a busy week on Netflix Australia with the addition of 62 new titles in the library. There’s plenty for you and the family to watch in the final days before Christmas, and plenty to be enjoyed afterwards as we look towards the start of a new decade.

To look at Jonathan Pryce, you would have thought he was in fact the current Pope today, and even Anthony Hopkins was perfectly cast the pope that came before, Pope Benedict. In a performance that could potentially earn Pryce an Oscar nomination, this witty comedy is definitely one of Netflix’s best of the year.

In one of the most dramatic religious events of the past 2,000 years, Cardinal Bergoglio requests his retirement from Pope Benedict. Instead of granting Bergoglio’s retirement, Pope Benedict, in the wake of facing scandal and his own self-doubt, summons Bergoglio to the Vatican. As the Pope’s greatest critic and his successor to be his holiness, Bergoglio is entrusted with a secret that could shake the foundations of the Catholic Church. Behind the walls of the Vatican, a struggle between two ideals ensues as tradition battles progress, guilt faces forgiveness as both men confront their pasts in the hope of forging a greater future for the Catholic Church and its billion followers worldwide.

The Blues Brothers (1980)

One of the most beloved musicals of the 80s, that still is played on stage all around the world today, The Blues Brothers is now available to stream on Netflix Australia! Featuring an all-star cast of some of the greatest artists of the era, you’ll find it impossible to not be entertained.

After his release from jail, Jake Blues reunites with his brother Elwood. On a mission from God himself, the Blues Brothers must raise $5,000 for the orphanage they grew up in before it closes. One by one, they get their old band back together to play various gigs, and in the process making quite a few enemies.

The Witcher: Season 1 N

It’s finally here! After months and months of waiting, the adaptation of one of the most beloved fictional franchises, The Witcher, is now available to stream on Netflix.

Geralt of Rivia is a Witcher, a mutated human with the ability to wield great power. As a Witcher, Geralt travels the sprawling continent, hunting the great number of beasts and paranormal creatures that haunt the landscape, for a price of course. The further Geralt travels, struggling to find his place in the world, he soon learns that the worst monsters are the ones we create.
